After initial contact the design process begins with an INITIAL VISIT. When we will spend time discussing your specific requirements. This visit is FREE and usually takes less than an hour, at the end of which you will have an idea of the costs involved and have an approximate time scale for the work required. It may be that you are happy with the structure of your garden and need some help with areas of tired or inappropriate planting. We can help plant and implement a total redesign, or advise on supplementary planting for all year interest.

If you decide to proceed, a convenient time will be arranged for a CONSULTANCY VISIT, which usually takes over an hour. We will complete a very detailed client questionnaire, which will help to design the garden that will really suit you. At all times we will bear in mind that it is your garden, although we may have different ideas to help you create solutions to a problem.

A SITE SURVEY will then be carried out, if necessary, which involves measurements of the house and garden, to include sketches, levels, soil samples, aspects, views and photographs.

This, together with the visits will form the basis of the LAYOUT PLAN. A good design will combine practicalities, function and aesthetics together with your own personal preferences. The plan will give as much detail as you need, with sketches and photographs to visualise your new garden. CAD is usually used to draw up plans, for the sake of speed, but hand drawn plans can also be arranged.

We work with a number of preferred CONTRACTORS and can produce written specification and construction drawings. Not all projects require this much detail and we are happy to tailor each new design to suit the client and their budget. Unlike many 'design and build' companies we am not restricted to a limited range of paving and plant nursery suppliers but can source the most appropriate materials wherever they be. We will gather the most appropriate craftsmen for the construction phase keeping in mind that choosing the most appropriate landscapers is an important ingredient to a cost-effective garden project. Once construction of the garden is underway the detailed PLANTING PLAN is drawn up. This takes into consideration the aspect and growing conditions of your garden and species are chosen accordingly. Colour and texture feature highly and can be tailored to suit individual tastes.

- PROJECT SUPERVISION. We will oversee the project to its completion and will lay out the plants, prior to planting, on every scheme.

THE END OF THE PROCESS........ well there is no end really, we like to keep in touch, where possible, and to re-visit old gardens and are always available for maintenance tips and advice.
